A COMMITMENT TO ADVANCED TRAINING AND ONGOING EDUCATION
Dr Hockings completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland and undertook several years of orthopaedic work prior to being accepted into the Victorian Orthopaedic Training Program, which he completed in 2021. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA).
To build on this foundation, Dr Hockings has undertaken extensive post-fellowship training, including:
Direct anterior approach hip replacement and hip arthroscopy with Professor John O’Donnell.
International visitations with Dr Frédéric Laude and Dr Pascal Vie, pioneers of the anterior approach in Europe.
Complex and revision hip and knee arthroplasty at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, with exposure to robotic-assisted joint replacement.
Shoulder, hip and trauma surgery with Dr Ed Bateman, including advanced hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasty, sports surgery and trauma fellowship.
